Sarah Palin surprised everyone today by announcing that she is seven months pregnant. Despite the fact that she isn’t showing any signs of pregnancy, Palin announced earlier today that she will be giving birth to her 5th child in May. I guess she won’t be John McCain’s running mate after all.
There are two things about this that are shocking to me. First, she doesn’t look a bit pregnant. I know that when my wife was 7 months pregnant, there was no possible way she could have hidden it from anyone. And second, I’m surprised that she waited this long to make an announcement. I realize that this is a part of her personal life, and she is entitled to her privacy, but it is guaranteed to have at least some affect on her duties as governor.
This is still pretty breaking news at this point, so it will be interesting to see what the reaction is across the state in the next couple of days. For a governor with an approval rating in the high 80’s, will this hurt or help her image? Will the late announcement have any affect on the way the news is perceived by the public and/or media?

Names for baby Palin? « Living Alaska // March 13, 2008 at 8:07 pm |

It looks like you missed it on this one.

Looks like she’s going to abandon her newborn with the nannies like most rich Republicans. And they’re the “family values” party?
Doug // August 29, 2008 at 7:00 am |
ryan, from what I heard earlier this morning, the father of the children is a stay-at-home-husband.
Could be wrong, the news often is, but that seems like pretty good family values, rich or poor. One parent works, the other stays at home.
Rich Democrats are guilty of what you accuse her of, too, you know.

Am I the father? LOL! One can wish they had a moment or 15 with a 9.0/10 like this. She’s a 9 as there’s a little baggage in the form of a family that one would have to skulk around LOL.
She’s one extremely attractive woman and I think that’s going to be part of this whole election as us americans are pretty shallow at this point and hence the Obama hype -until now. While I would have thought that Condi Rice would have certainly been the nail in the coffin of the Obama campaign, the selection of an extremely attractive, yet extremely bright female candidate with an excellent, sober brain may be all this man needs to be the next pres.
Condi would have captured the black, woman, conservative and smart vote ALONG WITH the “shallow majority” populist vote.
All I can say is WOW McCain! “These are seriously twisted fries!”

Oh, McCain is a smart fellow – all those angry women after Hillary’s defeat would support Sarah for presiding the office.

Well, guess the blog was wrong on at least two accounts. She *was* pregnant, and she *did get tapped* by McCain as his Veep.
Inn’t hindsight an awesome thing?

OMG this election is going to be craziness!
Go Obama

Of course this was a good move by McCain. And of course the women who are upset that Hillary won’t be in office will seemingly vote for McCain and his woman VP. But these are, more than likely, feminists. They aren’t going to fall for it: not any woman will replace another. They are completely different individuals!

John is one smart future President. This is the change that Obama should have done, but is kicking himself over his choice. I guess the White House doesn’t have room for him and a woman.
Not only is John making change, but for the first time, we will have a woman as Vice President. Go Republicans go!
Mick // August 29, 2008 at 9:58 am |
Right Tom!
The Republicans, the part of Lincoln, will be the party with the first woman Vice President.
She has everything going for her!

Seriously? What a waste of time. This is just insulting to Hillary supporters, McCain apparently thinks they were voting for her because she was a woman. Sarah and Hillary are polar opposites politically, the only thing they have in common is being women. If Hillary supporters switch to Sarah then they are only voting for a woman, not her politics, and if that is the case then good riddance.

Poor little libs, going nuts. You saps are so in love with Half Breed Harry, you don’t even notice he’s a freaking Marxist taking you for a ride.
Juan McCain wasn’t my pick, but he’s got my vote now, just to stick it your your sorry faces.
LMAO!
Jason Gillman // August 29, 2008 at 11:53 am |
She is awesome.. The more I read about her, the happier I am about the pick..
Strange.. Cannot remember getting this psyched about a VP pick….

This chick’s WAY hotter than Hillary…. she’s definitely got my vote on THAT account. Other than that…. NO. LMAO thanks Johnny! Barack wins for sure.

I think it is hilarious that the Obama campaign came out with a statement about her having ‘zero’ foreign policy experience! So basically the choice is a President with no foreign policy experience or a Vice President with no foreign policy experience. LOL! Tough call. Not.

I don’t want to vote for her, I just want a date with her.

Sarah won’t be wearing crayon colored pantsuits like Hillary. Sarah is a marathon runner and mountain climber from Alaska. Great legs.

I’m always glad to see Republicans showing their true colors.

I am not even going to say your name since it’s so disgusting but intolerant racist bastards like you shouldn’t be allowed to comment regardless of free speech! This country will never heal or truly advance as long as backward people like you are in it. Absolutely disgusting!
Mick // August 30, 2008 at 12:27 pm |
Ah, that was over the top.
Mick // August 30, 2008 at 12:36 pm |
But aren’t you tired of the sacred cow treatment of people of color, especially the ones who come here from foreign countries and jump on the gravy train of free ivy league college and job placement just because of the color of their skin, not the content of their character? I believe a lot of blacks who have family ties back 300 years in the U.S. should wonder why Obama’s father was given free college tuition at an ivy league university…
Mick // August 30, 2008 at 4:40 pm |
Obama grew up in Indonesia and Hawaii. Then got what may have been a greatly discounted ticket to Harvard…
Charmed life!

It’s about time. This woman will be a great VP.
