Lance Mackey is still at the head of the Iditarod pack, but Jeff King has been closing in fast. At the checkpoint of Kaltag, Lance Mackey stayed only 7 minutes, with Jeff King hot on his tail, only an hour behind.
With a full team of dogs, it seems likely that King will be able to pass Mackey in the home stretch, upsetting his hopes of a 4-peat.
